Pinoys on Amazing Race Asia 2
After the 8th leg in the current Amazing Race Asia 2, the Philippine team composed of Rovilson Fernandez, member of the Philippine Rowing Team, TV Host and Magazine Editor with Marc Nelson, model and TV Personality consistently plays awesome and remains at the top of the race. Ending up first on 7 out of 8 pit stops, the team are definitely the strongest and the team to beat, if not the unbeatable one in this season.
The race started out last November 22 in Singapore then to the Philippines, China, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Germany and the Czech Republic. Sisters Pamela and Vanessa Chong from Malaysia was the first to arrive on the pit stop that ended at Fort Santiago in Intramuros. While Rovilson and Marc got the first place at the last 7 pit stops so far.
The other Pinoy team Henry and Terry Reed, 13 years as a married couple, managed to stay until the 8th leg as one of the six teams but they were already eliminated in the last episode. Henry is a retired US navy officer while Terry is Henry’s housewife.
Their latest adventure is in Prague, Czech Republic where their strongest competitor are gym buddies Collin Low and Adrian Yap from Singapore, who often follows them ending on 2nd place on the 9th pit stop at Vrtbovska Gardens.
The 5 remaining teams are moms Diane Douglas and Ann Tan from Malaysia, childhood friends Natasha Monks and Paula Taylor from Thailand with Collin and Adrian, Vanessa and Pamela and Rovilson and Marc.
Rovilson and Marc made our country proud again. Their macho-looking factor is a big edge with their distinct sense of humor, they get along well and display good teamwork. Their combination of strong and sharp wit along with the sporty and fit physique worked to their advantage. As The Amazing Race Asia 2 website, describes Rovilson and Marc as one team with two flamboyant individuals who dish out a mixture of comedy and ego with a ton of sass. They never had arguments during the race and never had any with the other teams too.
There is one instant in the South Korean leg, Adrian and his partner Collin, who is their tough competitor tried to steal a cab that Rovilson and Marc had called, the latter merely gave way. Rovilson was heard saying, You stole our cab. We’ll remember that. There’s karma… but despite that incident Rovilson and Marc got the said leg while Adrian and Collin being the second.
But of course we cannot please everybody, not everyone would be in favor of the team to beat Rovilson and Marc even if they are consistently ahead of the pack. On the Amazing Race Online Forum, our bet have been called Arrogant Assholes. But regardless of these negative tag, our kababayans is extremely blessed with extraordinary luck, without making any mistakes in the challenges and ending up first in the last every pit stop.

too bad they finished 2nd place last thursday! But it was so close!!! Sayang! But they’re really the team to beat at this season unlike Aubrey’s team in the 1st season. =p

i’m a big big fan of Amazing Race. i don’t care if they’re being called Arrogant Assholes. they have something to brag about anyway. hehe. i love watching them because you can really see that they’re enjoying the race. they’re so passionate and always excited. they’re fun to watch.

it was only yesterday that i got to watch a marathon of the first three legs of AR Asia. ang galing ni marc and rovilson! hindi naman ako mashadong fan ano? hehe. anyway im really proud of them. pag hindi sila nanalo nako sobrang disappointing dahil team to beat sila!

They’re really the “team to beat” this season. And with that, I also remember them saying during their Philippine leg that they were asking for forgiveness from their mothers who taught them the values because they had to leave the girls behind.
I hope they’re really that down-to-earth in real life.
