Angelo Que joins Tiger Woods in British Open
Angelo Que is the first Filipino golfer in ten years to play in one of the world’ four major, the British Open.
He ensured the fourth and last spot during the International Final Qualifying Asia at Sentosa’s Serapong course in Singapore.
Que gained his first Major arrival in style as he holed out a monster 40 foot birdie putt on the fourth extra hole to blow away Japan’s Tomohiro Kondo expectancy.
I’ve been putting well and holed a few of those today. I had a similar putt during regulation but just needed to hit it harder. Luckily, I holed a long one at the last. It feels great as I haven’t been playing well the past two years. Finally, I’ve got a chance to play in The Open. It’s an honor for me to represent the Philippines. It’s a dream come true, Que.
On the former Vietnam Masters champion we had the first Filipino, Frankie Miñoza in 1998 to qualify for the Open, the year’s third major will featuring the world’s top players including Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh and Phil Mickelson.

I hope he makes it to the final round. Kaya lang matindi and mga kalaban. Mahilig din ako manood ng sa golf, pero hindi ako naglalaro. Mahal eh., saka parang nakakakonsensya. Ang daming walang lupa at madami ang homeless, tapos yung mga mayayaman ginagawa lang playground. He he he.
Pero idol ko si Tiger. Pag may Pinoy na pumasok, e di sa pinoy na!
