American Idol Season 8 Finale | Kris Allen Wins American Idol Season 8
Today is the day! It is the American Idol Season 8 Finale! and Kris Allen WON! (See video here.)
A little under 100 million votes was received and over 624 million votes came in for this season. Here’s what happened during the finale.
Ryan introduces the American Idol judges with their funny video clips of their verbal quirks. Ryan introduces the top 2, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert, both are wearing in white. Carly Smithson is hosting in San Diego while Michaela Gordon is hosting at the viewing party for Kris in Arkansas.
The Top 13 were on stage singing Pink’s “So What” and everybody is dressed in white.
David Cook performed “Permanent” this song is dedicated for his late brother Adam who just died recently to brain cancer. After his performance Ryan says “how it must have been a tough song to sing” then David says that “the song will be available on iTunes after the show and the proceeds will be donated to ABC squared to find a cure for cancer. Also David says both Kris and Adam are great guys and he do not know that America can get this wrong.
Hmmm the golden Idol awards are back, then Lil Rounds and Queen Latifah sang “Cue the Rain” and they messed up, lolz! Next Jason Mraz sang with Anoop Desai and Alexis Grace and the rest of the Top 13 to sing “I’m Yours”. Next, is a video of “The Journey of Kris Allen”.
Kris Allen and Keith Urban did a duet, “Kiss a Girl”. Kris plays the acoustic guitar while Keith plays on the electric. Top 13 Girls now on stage to sing “Glamorous”, Megan Joy and Jasmine Murray then Allison intros Fergie singing “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” then Allison intros the Black Eyed Peas singing “Boom Boom Pow” with a lot of censoring done, lolz.
Golden Idols again next is the Best attitude award then Katrina Darrell the Bikini Girl, Alexis Cohen, Tiffany Shedd were the nominees and of course Katrina arrived wearing a bikini. Kara joins the stage for a duet and she also is wearing a bikini under her dress, Lolz!
Allison Iraheta and Cyndi Lauper sang a duet on “Time after Time”. LOVE IT!!!. Cyndi is playing the autoharp and they blend really well. Then Ryan interviews Kris Allen’s parents then move over to the other side of the venue to interview Adam’s parents.
Up next is Danny Gokey singing “Hello” then Lionel Richie takes the stage singing some of his songs.
Showing off Adam Lambert’s journey, Adam sings with a Jacko inspired outfit minus the platform shoes of course, LOLz! He sang “Beth” then Kiss showed up with a big pyro techniques and was great after all, lolz! Next is Carlos Santana playing “Black Magic Woman”. Matt Giruad did the opening and then the Top 13 join them on stage singing “Smooth”.
Ford music Video “I will Remember You” montage of all the seasons Ford videos. Nice harmony from Adam and Kris. David Cook gave them a present, Adam and Kris, a new Ford Fusions.
Then Steve Martin playing banjo with Megan Joy and Michael Sarver singing “Pretty Flowers” also written by Steve. Then the top 13 boys sang “Do You Think I’m Sexy” while Adam intros Rod Stewart singing “Maggie May”.
Golden Idol Awards time, now for Best Female: Nominees are Chelsie Melquart, Irene Angolova, Dana Morena and Tatiana Del Toro. Tatiana won of course, and she and Ryan do a bit like a skit like Ryan tries to go to break, but Tatiana won’t get off stage and just sing with all the guards on her.
Adam Lambert and Kris Allen sang a duet on “We Are the Champions” with The Queen, Brian May on guitar plus the rest of the Top 13 with a choir are on stage.
Time for the results then Simon says they were both brilliant and incredibly nice people, both proud, the future is all yours. Then the telescope representative takes the stage.
With nearly 100 million votes the winner of American Idol 2009 is Kris Allen!

Glambert should’ve won. Tween girls fell for kris’ HEARTLESS performance. but that was his only hit.. If you go thru the entire AI season 8 adam is the front runner-the best every week. Judging by the look on Simon’s face… Paula should have been hysterical and happy by the time ryan declares the winner but Paula just clapped and stood up. They do not agree with the results. There shoudnt have hired judges if they dont have to hire judges after all. Kris is another Ruben and another Taylor Hicks.
Kris may be the American Idol, but adam is the SUPERSTAR. The underdog may have saved teh day but the Rock God shall dominate the future.

both adam and kris deserves the american idol season 8 champion… but i lyk kris a lot coz from the 1st to the last you saw his growth and improvement unlike adam he is comfortable in doing all the stage thing….

I have nothing against Kris Allen. For me, his humility is very endearing. He’s kinda cute too, even with his lopsided look when he belts the high notes.
But this is a singing contest, for crying out loud. It’s not about a class on good manners and right conduct.
It’s true that sometimes Adam goes over the top, but when he chooses to, Adam can sing very exquisitely and most likely to charm the pants off women. Or some men for that matter.
